What's New This Week!

SPEAKER: Anna McGinn and Chris Luehr

TOPIC:  Great North Innocence Project

Anna McGinn is an attorney and legal fellow at the Great North Innocence Project (GNIP).  She is passionate about innocence work and criminal-justice reform.  Anna feels blessed to practice law by representing the wrongfully convicted in MN, ND, and SD.  Anna graduated cum laude from Notre Dame Law School in May 2022.  She received my bachelor's degree from Carleton College in 2018.  In her free time, Anna enjoys painting, printmaking, and sewing.

Chris Luehr is an estate planning attorney and a member of the GNIP Speaker's Bureau. His first teaching job after college landed him in northeastern China, followed with continued education at Columbia University and a law degree from the U of M. When not working diligently for his clients Chris advocates for racial justice and community equity.  Chris enjoys engaging with people, learning their stories, and working on their next chapter.

The pot stands at $993.00Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $3 for 5 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot.  If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot.  If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.  Congratulations to Jodi Ellingson for drawing the A of Clubs, and Charlie Drew for drawing the A of Diamonds.  They are guaranteed 1/4 of the pot.
