SPEAKER: Jess Luce

TOPIC: Communities for a Lifetime Initiative

Jess Luce is currently the Program Manager of the Communities for a Lifetime Initiative, Dakota County’s aging initiative to prepare for aging communities.

Jess now serves on the Trellis (formerly Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging) Public Program Advisory Committee, after serving on the MAAA board from 2008 – 2016.  He is a 2009 Bush Foundation Leadership Fellow (St. Paul, MN) who attended the Maxwell School at Syracuse University where he received a master’s degree in public administration, focusing on Gerontology and Health Services Management and Policy.

Jess uses his fellowship to convene communities and conduct presentations to local governments on changing demographics, trends about Baby Boomers, innovations in elder care, and Age-Friendly concepts.

For the meeting of October 1, 2025 there are 38 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $172.00. Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $3 for 5 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot.  If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot.  If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.
