Sign up today to host a student for part of the 2017-2018 School Year By hosting a Youth Exchange student in your home, you will make a young person’s dream come true, and you and your family will share an unforgettable and fulfilling experience.
As a host family, you are expected to: - Provide room and board for up to three months - Supervise the student just as you would your own children - Involve the student in family activities and chores - Enrich the exchange experience by including the student in family and community activities The Apple Valley Rotary Club pays for all school lunches and other routine school expenses and provides the exchange student with a small amount of financial support each month. Our host families must reside within the boundaries of the ISD196 School District and work as a coordinated team to provide homes for the school year. Depending on the location of our host families, the student will attend either Apple Valley or Eastview High School. Three host families are needed to support our incoming student who arrives in late August 2017. Chris Massoglia is our Club’s Youth Exchange Officer. Jessica Fields and Tom Lawell help out as Youth Exchange Counselors as needed. Retired Youth Exchange Officer Peter Theberath is also a great resource. We are all dedicated to making sure your host family experience is a huge success. In addition, the Northstar Rotary Youth Exchange Program for our Rotary District 5950 provides great training for host families. You can do this and you’ll have all the support you need!
