Minnesota Gold

Hello, my name is Patrick Mader, a teacher and author from Northfield. I joined forces with former StarTribune reporter Joel Rippel (author of six books on Minnesota sports who is serving as editor) to interview 57 athletes with strong connections to Minnesota that have compelling stories about their athletic experiences in international competitions such as the Olympics (primarily), World Championships, and the World Cup. Following three years of research, interviewing, writing, and editing, Minnesota Gold was published one month ago. It includes numerous metro area athletes--including one from Apple Vally, Shani Marks--in various sports as well as others from every part of the state.
